Dustin is a PhD candidate in the Cellular, Molecular, and Developmental Biology department at the CUNY School of Medicine. His current work focuses on how the secreted signaling peptide Sonic Hedgehog regulates Opiate signaling in the Basal Ganglia. Prior to his PhD work, he worked as a lab technician in labs studying spinal cord injury revovery, gene therapy in occular diseases, gene expression changes in coral bleaching, and cancer biology. During his time at Ripon College studying Biology he was a McNair Scholar.
